Moved from Internet Security Suite 10 to Virus Discussions - MOD I thought of removing mcafee internet security suite and reinstalling it again from my email but am not sure if this leaves me vulnerable to further viruses whilst trying to do this? When logging into the computer now in normal mode (ie not safe mode) the screen now keeps freezing and 'beeps' when I try to click on icons. A scan of the hard drive last night in safe mode with mcafee did not detect any problems but I now am not sure if I can trust my mcafee screen and its functions as I'm not sure if it has been altered by the virus? I have also tried HiJack this but am unsure what to delete without being able to go online and check what should be deleted. Click fix now' but then says ' one or more problems cannot be fixed because of an error' after clicking on fix. In safe mode, mcafee screen says ' Am I protected? No. All other non-virus related webpages appear to work fine. I have tried accessing my mcafee acount through emails sent from mcafee from when I bought internet security centre earlier this year, I've tried directly typing mcafee's address in and via google but I keep getting messages about incorrect addresses or no connection, or links to pages which clearly aren't the offical pages and contain dodgy looking ads for other software. I seem to have a virus which stops me from accessing any webpages containing the words anti-virus, mcafee, antispyware, malaware etc. Hi, can anyone help me asap please? I've looked through the forums for any similar difficulties but can't find anything so here goes.
